What We Do
A court reporter uses a shorthand keyboard to convert speech to text and produce a verbatim transcript of a legal proceeding. They will work in a team with an editor who finalises the transcript with corrected quotes and references.
A talented court reporter with five to ten years’ experience may qualify as a real-time transcriber and will be able to transcribe at around 250 word per minute, complete with punctuation.
At Juriscript we only work with this highest level of court reporter in order to ensure that our clients’ real-time feed is fit for purpose, and to ensure that we can provide a high-quality final transcript on an expedited basis.
In contrast to many legal services providers, for whom court reporting is a small part of what they do, transcription is our speciality. We have access to the finest real-time reporters and have streamlined our business to provide this tool to legal teams working in arbitration and court hearings.
Our clients deal directly with the court reporting team in the hearing room, meaning that any requests – extra real-time connections, a draft transcript during a break etc – can be dealt with instantly, rather than being routed back through an office and delayed.
At the end of the hearing day the team will format and send the final transcript immediately, rather than it being sent to the agency to wait in a queue.
Our real-time transcription teams can provide a live feed and a final verbatim transcript of both virtual hearings and at any location worldwide. We are able to provide a live feed to any online device so that permitted parties can follow and work on the proceedings in real time. We use the latest software and over 15 years’ experience of court reporting to provide you with an exceptional service.
We are an accredited transcription provider of the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London, and have extensive experience working in the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, the International Hearing Centre in Stockholm, as well as courts and arbitration venues around the world.
A highly-experienced transcription team will attend in person or via videolink as required and produce a verbatim transcript, provided to the legal teams and tribunal in short order.
